A Pixieset alternative with the editor built in
Pixieset is the category leader for client galleries, with a print store, lab fulfillment, a website builder and mobile apps. Editing is a separate product on a separate subscription. Obscura Studio is a smaller, newer tool that puts a RAW editor in the same place as the galleries, and at 1 TB it costs a third of Pixieset’s price for the galleries alone.

Pixieset’s free plan gives you 3 GB and takes a 15% commission on anything you sell through it; paid plans drop the commission but still charge separately by storage tier, up to $50/month ($40 annual) for unlimited. None of those plans include editing; Pixieset Photo Editor is its own product at $12/month billed annually ($18 month-to-month), with RAW support and AI retouch. Obscura Studio has one free tier at 10 GB with no commission ever, and paid tiers from $20/month for 1 TB, with the full browser editor (RAW develop, tone curves, HSL, healing, AI portrait retouch, presets) included on every plan. Going over quota on Obscura never deletes anything; uploads pause until space is freed or the plan upgraded.

Where Pixieset is ahead
Pixieset has been at this longer and has advantages Obscura does not try to match:
- Print store and lab fulfillment. Clients can order prints and products straight from their gallery, with Pixieset handling production and shipping. Obscura has no print store.
- Website builder. Pixieset lets you build a full photographer website, not just galleries. Obscura doesn’t offer one.
- Mobile apps. Pixieset has dedicated iOS/Android apps for studio owners and clients. Obscura is browser-only.
- A mature, established ecosystem. Pixieset is the category leader with years of iteration behind its gallery and storefront tools. Obscura is newer and smaller.
